In Addition to Her Litigation Experience

Antoinette N. Harris previously served as an Administrative Judge for the State of Florida, where she conducted evidentiary hearings, issued rulings, and ensured due process was upheld under both state and federal law. This experience deepened her understanding of the responsibility that comes with wearing the robe — and the importance of fairness, consistency, and preparation on the bench. Her time in this role reinforced her commitment to making courts work efficiently while treating every person with respect and dignity.

Her educational background reflects a strong foundation and a lifelong commitment to justice. Antoinette earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, followed by a Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center. She later completed her LL.M. at Washington University School of Law, one of the top legal programs in the country. Each step of her academic journey has strengthened her ability to serve with insight, integrity, and real-world legal expertise.

Beyond Her Legal Work

Antoinette is a vocal advocate for mental health awareness and equitable access to care. She believes our justice system must reflect the realities people face — and that includes recognizing the impact of mental health on individuals, families, and communities.

As a practicing attorney, Antoinette has represented numerous criminal clients struggling with mental health challenges — and she handles each case with care, compassion, and a deep understanding of the resources and support they truly need. She knows that untreated mental health issues don’t belong in jail cells or overlooked in courtrooms.

In May, she led the charge for Mental Health Awareness Month, organizing and moderating a pivotal panel co-hosted by the J.L. Turner Legal Association and the L. Clifford Davis Legal Association. The event brought together attorneys, mental health professionals, and community leaders for a powerful conversation about how the legal system must do better.

Antoinette is committed to bringing that same awareness to the bench — ensuring that justice is not only fair, but humane.

Her Passion for Community Empowerment Runs Deep

Antoinette is a Volunteer Deputy Registrar in Dallas County, Director of Alumni Relations for Crowned Scholars — a mentorship and life-skills program for African American high school males — and an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a public service organization rooted in social action and civic engagement. She has also served as the Parliamentarian for the J.L. Turner Legal Association, the African American Bar Association of Dallas County, where she helped uphold the organization’s commitment to justice and professionalism.

Justice Isn’t a Guessing Game. Experience Matters.
